The nurse group found that the 6-month pilot program was clearly beneficial. The nurses who participated in the program were able to reduce their levels of compassion fatigue. Additionally, the facility administration has led further efforts to help pediatric oncology nurses combat compassion fatigue, its most significant initiative being to establish an interprofessional resilience center. The group also suggests continuing to explore the importance of coping, resilience, and ongoing interventions in pediatric oncology.
