Valeritas announced that the FDA has approved the V-Go disposable insulin delivery device for use with
NovoLog (insulin aspart;
Novo Nordisk). The V-Go is a small, lightweight device measuring 2.4 x 1.3 x 0.5 inches and weighing approximately 1oz when filled with insulin. V-Go is applied to the skin once every 24 hours and subcutaneously provides a continuous preset basal rate of insulin and allows for manual on-demand bolus dosing around mealtimes.
V-Go is already approved for use with
Humalog (insulin lispro;
Lilly).
