Therapeutic Use:

Indications for TRETIN-X:

Acne vulgaris.

Adult:

Apply sparingly at bedtime to clean dry skin; adjust strength and frequency as tolerated and needed.

Children:

Not established.

Warnings/Precautions:

Not for use in eczema or sunburned skin. Discontinue if sensitivity or irritation occurs. Avoid eyes, mouth, angles of nose, mucous membranes. Minimize exposure to sun or UV light. Increased irritation in weather extremes. Pregnancy (Cat.C): not recommended. Nursing mothers.

Interactions:

Allow effects of sulfur, resorcinol, salicylic acid to subside before applying. Caution with abrasives, astringents, drying agents, high-alcohol content topical products, spices, lime, other topical acne agents.

Pharmacological Class:

Retinoid.

Adverse Reactions:

Transient symptom exacerbation or pigmentation changes, local skin reactions (eg, erythema, peeling, edema, blistering, crusting), photosensitivity, stinging, dryness.
