Robot-assisted surgery effective in controlling prostate cancer for 10 years

Results of a new study show that robot-assisted surgery to remove cancerous prostate glands is effective in controlling the disease for 10 years. The results are comparable to open surgery in which the entire diseased prostate and some surrounding tissue are removed. These study findings apply to men whose cancer has not spread beyond the prostate.
