Indications for DIFICID:

For the treatment of Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea.

Adult:

≥18yrs: 200mg twice daily for 10 days.

Children:

<18yrs: not established.

Warnings/Precautions:

Not for treating systemic infections (minimal systemic absorption). Known macrolide allergy. Discontinue if severe hypersensitivity reactions occur. Pregnancy (Cat. B). Nursing mothers.

Pharmacological Class:

Macrolide antibiotic.

Adverse Reactions:

Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, GI hemorrhage, anemia, neutropenia.
