Generic Name and Formulations:
Dibasic sodium phosphate 0.032, monobasic sodium phosphate 0.009, calcium chloride 0.052, sodium chloride 0.569, purified water; supersaturated calcium phosphate rinse; contains sodium 71mg/30mL dose.

Therapeutic Use:

Indications for CAPHOSOL:

Dry mouth or throat (hyposalivation, xerostomia).

Adult:

Mix 1 blue (Caphosol A) and 1 clear ampule (Caphosol B). Swish the mouth thoroughly for 1 minute with half of the solution and spit out. Repeat with remaining half and spit out. Use immediately after mixing ampules. Repeat 2–10 times/day or as needed. No adverse effects expected if swallowed. Avoid eating or drinking for 15 minutes after use.

Children:

Not recommended.

Warnings/Precautions:

Sodium-restricted diet.

How Supplied:

Dose box (2 x 15mL ampules/dose)—30, 120

Indications for CAPHOSOL:

Adjunct to standard oral care in treating mucositis caused by radiation or high dose chemotherapy.

Adult:

Mix 1 blue (Caphosol A) and 1 clear ampule (Caphosol B). Swish the mouth thoroughly for 1 minute with half of the solution and spit out. Repeat with remaining half and spit out. Use immediately after mixing ampules. Repeat 4 doses/day from the onset of cancer treatment. Up to 10 doses/day if pain experienced. No adverse effects expected if swallowed. Avoid eating or drinking for 15 minutes after use.
